Soul ties: Choose wisely

Proverbs 1:10(GW) My son, if sinners lure you, do not go along.

A soul tie in  essence is  something that you are connected to  on  a deeper level; This can be a  positive or  negative  thing.  So how do you decide   if  the  one your  are connected  to is a  positive thing or  a negative thing? Well  ask  yourself this  is  the relationship that you are  currently connected to  pushing  you  closer or further away from God?

Choosing Wisely....

It is  important to know the intentions of the  people you invest your time with.  Are the two of you on the same page of what you want   out the relationship does your moral compass line  up with him/her?  So many  dive  head first  into a relationship based on  lust or in effort to fill the void of loneliness having    never really  discussed  what each of you require.   Let's be real the cupcake phase will end  and  your clouded  vision will dissipate so when that happens you want to make sure that your time was well spent and that  you have no regrets.

Compromise...

God  has specific intentions  for each our lives  we don't have time to compromise  our values to  please  someone who  doesn't our best interest in mind.   Remember,  your purpose isn't just  for you other  lives are connected to  mission,  your light in this world   shouldn't be diminished in order  to please someone else's self serving  desires.

What is Love?
Well let's start with what love isn't : Love isn't  pressuring  you into sex before marriage,   love isn't asking to be anyone other than  who God  created you to be , love  isn't  self-serving. Real love  is nurturing each others  purpose and keeping each other  accountable,  love is wanting to the other succeed because  you share the same mission in chasing after the  will of  God.

If you find yourself in a  crossroad in your relationship take time to reevaluate if  where you are is where you  really want to be. Cut  those ties that distract you from  God and leaves  you broken ,  trust that  God  knows exactly what you need and allow Him   to write your love story.

Love,

Mission: Hope Restoration

All pictures taken and Edited by Lesli Allyn Blogs unless otherwise stated.

Zechariah 9:12 (GWT) Return to your fortress, you captives who have hope. Today I tell you that I will return to you  double blessings.

(Press Play: Listen as you read)

We have   all experienced  periods in   life where you  feel like you're  just barely  keeping your head above  water  and life becomes  so consuming that you become frustrated  and lose hope.  In   this  time  you may  become  very  vulnerable   and it is easy to be distracted by all the things that have disappointed you.

Personally,  I don't  take  disappointment  well at  all and  I find that disappointment is  an emotion that  is very hard for me  to recover from.  There have been events in my life where a promise was broken or  things  just didn't  work out as expected and that pain lingers.  I got to a point where the motto I lived by was " If I don't get my  hopes   up I won't get hurt ".   The problem with this sort of  thinking is that my heart became  hardened , I push  people away and  it  isolates me  within  my  pain.

Recently  I had   moment  that I realized that I was still  carrying around this pain so long that I hadn't noticed that  not only has  my  perspective   isolated me from developing  relationships  with  others but it has also  isolated me   from God and  my hope in Him.

Up until that point I had never thought about it that way; I didn't  get that  all this time I was just going through the  motions  and  that I  had become  such a  pessimist .  Even as I was praying to  God  there was a part of me that   didn't think I'd see my  prayers come to fruition. If  you  identify with me  and find yourself in the same place It's time to re-calibrate our  point of  view doubt prevents progress.

What  we  need to remember is that   the mission  of the enemy is to  separate you  from  God  and  fill your mind with lies so you will lose  hope and become distracted from the promises of  God.  Below I've  listed a few verses  to meditate on to  renew our  hope and shut  down every lie from the  enemy!

Jeremiah 29:11(GW) I know the plans that I have for you, declares the Lord. They are plans for peace and not disaster, plans to give you a future filled with hope.

Romans 8:28(GW)We know that all things work together for the good of those who love God—those whom he has called according to his plan.

Numbers 23:19(GW)God is not like people. He tells no lies. He is not like humans. He doesn’t change his mind. When he says something, he does it. When he makes a promise, he keeps it.

What's Your Sign?

All the advice you receive has made you tired. Where are all your astrologers, those stargazers who make predictions each month? Let them stand up and save you from what the future holds.. -Isaiah 47:13  (NLT )

All photos are taken and edited by Lesli Allyn Unless otherwise stated .

Astrology and associating  yourself  to  a specific  sign  can be a touchy  subject from some  even in spite of the fact that   astrology has been  greatly  diluted over the years.  Some  check their  horoscopes  faithful each day others  won't  date anyone who isn't compatible with their sign.  Even Christians rep  their signs on social  media on their birthdays  hash tag  Scorpio  season! But do we really know the significance  of astrology and what you're subscribing to  or for that  matter  how  God  feels about it?  I strongly  suggest that you do your own research on it's origin and  decide for yourself.

Some  may  comment that it's not that deep  or   attempt to  validate  this practice.  So allow  me to clarify my intentions. I'm not here to  debate or change your mind, the purpose of this post  is   to  create  a  dialogue and to respectfully share  another perspective.

With that being said in an effort to be  transparent  over the years I would  read  my horoscope here and there and  even  had a  shirt with the word Virgo on it.   Back then I thought it was   the trendy  thing to do and  never  gave  it much thought other than  that.  My perspective has changed over time; I  had to ask myself a few questions.

Why would  I consult with  the stars  for  answers as opposed to the  the one who created the stars and the universe itself?

Do  really want to  be   clumped with a group of people based on what  is said to be a  "common  character trait"?

Could I possibly  be missing out on  a amazing   relationship simply because our "signs" are compatible?

My personal belief is this:

God has given us  an amazing  resource  through His word and  prayer that  provides more than enough information to help navigate through life,  I am an individual  God  created me completely different from everyone else.  I have my own set of attributes as well as my own set of  flaws  so why would I want to  clump myself in with someone else's?  Lastly ,  As far as relationships go I would  much rather  get to know someone for myself and  make sound  decision  at  the leading of the holy spirit.

I'd love to hear your  thoughts

  •  Is  astrology just not  deep and  just a form of entertainment ?
  •  Do  practice it faithfully and swear by it?
  • Or is it just not  your thing?

Whatever your  set of  beliefs are let's resolve to  be kind and  respectfully  share our opinions.

Love,

Are you All In?

Luke 8:14-15(NIV) 14 The seed that fell among thorns stands for those who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked by life’s worries, riches and pleasures, and they do not mature. 15 But the seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart, who hear the word, retain it, and by persevering produce a crop.

With anything that you desire to  grow  stronger  and  more  knowledgeable  in  you must  practice  consistency. Often times we  will pick and   choose from the  bible what makes us comfortable and fits our lifestyle.   The  word of God is not a  to go menu for you  choose a combo meal and a  drink then  be on your merry way.

The truth  is  following  God  isn't  always  easy and you won't be  comfortable with everything that God expects from us; But there is  great reward in being  all in  and  following the leading  of  holy spirit.   You'll find  that    the outcome of  trusting  God  far  out weighs  the  pain of  being moved out of your comfort zone.

Trust me I know how easy it is  to  get  caught up with what's  popular  opinion.  Social  media and  the entertainment industry  for example    definitely  have  given  some folks  a  platform to project their  philosophies and so many of us  are  drinking up their  watered  down  gospel.  Let's  be clear anything  that includes sin does not rep Christ so  be careful  of  what you digest.

What feels  good to  you  isn't always good for  you, this  is   why  it  is  so important to your  faith is  firmly    rooted in what  the word  says so you won't be another  sheep being lead  by a pack of  wolves.  Understand that you where meant to  stand  out  Matthew 5:14  says this:

14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

Don't allow your light  to be dimmed  to  adapt to the worlds  view; You were created to be so much more! Remember life is too short to live like everyone  projecting  anything less than the   authentic  you.   If you lose  friends or  a significant other  count it as  a blessing  because they would've  been a distraction anyway,  Move  forward life to your full potential  on purpose!

Are you all in?

If  you haven't received  Jesus as your personal savior I  would like  to invite you to make the BEST  decision  of your life.    Pray this simple prayer..

Lord I want to be  all in    I accept you as  my  personal savior, I believe that you died on the cross and rose again.  Write my name in the book of life and teach me how to fully live for  you.  In Jesus's name -Amen

Welcome to the family!

Love,
